Ooo, much good advice! I think we'll get a playpen, they seem so potentially useful, especially for travel. But I am conflicted on them... there's the giant plastic ones with many addons that make it also a changing table, crib, basinette, merry go round, etc (kidding on the merry go round, but still... so complicated!), like this: http://www.chiccoshop.com/lullaby-lx-playard---romantic/00079059430070.html. They seem very handy, but also clunky.
And then there's simple playpens that I like more, like this: http://www.joovy.com/p-100-room-playard.aspx But I'm wondering if the plain ones are "comfy" enough - which one was yours more like?
Also, maybe this is a regionalism, but what is a "boonie", as in ball caps and boonies?
